Now Hiring - Account Manager, Fruit Procurement & Grower Services-South in Selah, WA

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Account Manager, FP & GS is responsible for procuring fruit for Tree Top's products from both packers and growers (members and non-members). Position builds solid relationships with growers and packers; assist Tree Top members with deliveries of fruit and market right utilization; negotiate cash purchases with both Packhouses and growers to ensure adequate fruit supply to support marketing initiatives and plant production schedules.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to the Raw Fruit Procurement Manager North (WA), the Northern Fruit Procurement Manager (Wenatchee District) or Raw Fruit Procurement Manager South (CA) and may supervise staff. The position works closely with the Logistics group, plants, administration and scale house personnel, production planning, sales, growers, and packers.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• General understanding of the fruit industry, packhouse procedures, and fruit handling practices.
• Principles and practices of inventory management.
• Broad knowledge of the agricultural business and the cycles/seasons that affect the market.
• Principles and practices of supply chain, related to perishable food items.
• Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.

ABILITY TO:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with growers and packers.
• Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
• Gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion.
• Effectively resolve conflicts and negotiate.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Identify, research, and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions.
• Effectively organize, plan, and execute.
• Use computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Meet behaviors established in Tree Top's performance management and development process.

EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION/LICENSES, AND TRAINING:

• A BA/BS degree in agriculture, horticulture, business or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in an agricultural business/environment.
• Driver's license from state of residency is required.
• Must meet Tree Top's driving insurance requirements.
• Washington produce buyer's license is preferred. For California, produce buyer's license is required.
• SQF or GAP certification is preferred.
